Trademark Body Art FAQ

Is getting a tattoo/piercing safe?
Yes, it is safe to get a tattoo/piercing with us. We use the same procedures as a hospital to clean and sterilize our instruments. Everything is disposed of after every tattoo and the entire area is sanitized. Anything that is not disposable goes into an autoclave for sterilization before it’s next use. Our procedure consists of individually wrapped instruments that are only opened in front of you. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

How much will it cost?
The cost varies on the size of your tattoo, the complexity, and where you put it on your body. Our shop minimum is $80 and our hourly rate is $120. Anything under 2 hours will be time PLUS $60.

Will it hurt?

Yes, it will hurt. Some places will hurt more than others.

Can I use some type of numbing cream?

The only type of numbing product that we recommend is Hush. We sell it in shop, offering the options of a “before” gel and a “during” spray. They are $25 each.

How old do I have to be?

You have to be 18 years old in the state of Georgia to be tattooed. We will not tattoo any minors with or without parent consent. Period.
You have to be at least 14 to be pierced by us WITH a parent/guardian present.

Can you be tattooed/pierced if you’re pregnant?

What should I get and where?

You should get whatever you want, where ever you want. However, we will make suggestions on placement if we feel that said tattoo would look/flow better in certain places on your body. Think long and hard about your tattoos. They are permanent and will be on your body forever.

Will they fade?

Tattoos age just as you do. To keep your tattoo as bright and vibrant as possible follow ALL of your aftercare instructions and wear a high SPF sunscreen when you plan on being outside for a while.

What is the best time of year to get tattooed?

Summer and winter months tend to be harsh on our skin. Keep that in mind when planning a tattoo. The best seasons to get tattooed would be in the spring or fall. That being said, you can be tattooed all year round and have amazing results as long as you follow your aftercare.

Is it OK to lay out or go to a tanning bed after getting a new tattoo?

No! You must wait at least two weeks before tanning! After the initial two weeks, it’s acceptable when you wear sunscreen over your new tattoo.

Can I bring in my own designs?

Yes! We would love to help you create an amazing piece of art that will last a lifetime.

Can we fix your old tattoos?

Absolutely! Stop by with any ideas you may have for a cover up or just drop in to show us what you’d like to have touched up/reworked.

Should you tip your artist?

Yes! Tipping is an act of appreciation for a service. If you love your work there is no better way to show it than with a tip.

Where can I find pictures of (lion, infinity, anchor, dragon, koi, etc) tattoos?

You can find anything on Google. If you can get close to what you want we can help you the rest of the way.

If you have dark skin, can you get color tattoos?

There is no definite answer to this other than talk to your tattoo artist. They are the only ones who will be able to tell you if your skin will allow the pigment to show through and if so, which colors would show best.

“My friend just bought a tattoo kit, should I let them practice on me?”
